Preventive Dentistry

At EM Dental, we believe prevention is the key to good dental health and therefore six monthly dental checkups are recommended.  Early identification of dental issues can result in less invasive procedures being required and also reducing associated costs with complicated procedures.  Brushing at least twice daily and flossing is what our dentists recommended to maintain and healthy smile. Proper dental hygiene helps remove plaque which is critical in minimizing problems.

Restorative Dentistry

 

Unfortunately, decay or cavities are common problems that require addressing preferably in the early stages if detected.

Restoring a tooth is commonly known as a filling and our dentists not only addresses the function of the tooth but also the appearance of the tooth by using white composite fillings. Our white fillings do not contain mercury therefore we ensure a safe and ideal solution to your teeth for the years to come.

Bridges

 

Replacing missing tooth/teeth can be achieved with the option of a dental bridge. This is performed by replacing the missing tooth with an artificial tooth attached to adjacent teeth.

Root Canal Treatment

 

Unfortunately, sometimes teeth can cause symptoms such as severe and spontaneous pain, extreme tenderness, swelling around gums and/or face and even the forming of abscess when it is badly decayed or infected. Root canal treatment involves the removal of damaged nerves and blood vessels to clean and the fill tooth canals with medication.

 

Although RCT is considered an invasive treatment, with the care and expertise of our dentists, you can be assured the best possible care. If specialist care by an endodontist is required due to the complexity of your tooth we can arrange a referral.

Crowns

 

Crowns are also known as a ‘cap’ is a form of dental restoration which are perfect in cases with repeatedly cracked or chipped teeth. They preserve the life of a tooth preventing from further damage. Crowns are also commonly used to protect a tooth after a root canal treatment because they are non-vital teeth and tend to become brittle and break easily.

Implant Dentistry

 

Dental implants are the most ideal way in which to replace missing teeth, support dental bridges and dentures. Without compromising other teeth a root replacement device is implanted into the jaw bone, left to heal and integrate into the bone before a natural-looking replacement tooth/teeth is placed.
